Lions Predator Free is an initiative of the Lions Club of Middle Districts based in Palmerston North and is supported by the Predator Free NZ Trust.
We operate the Lions Mini Golf in the Esplanade and we run the National Lions Christmas Cake project annually.
We want Palmerston North to eventually be predator free so that we can all enjoy what will be a consequential increase in the native bird population. Ridding Palmerston North of rats won’t happen overnight and as a voluntary, self-funded organisation of about 50 members we need more help.
THIS IS WHERE YOU COME IN
We initially targeted Hokowhitu and are now ready to take the project further afield. We have placed traps in the Hokowhitu area, Manawatu Golf Club and traps along the walkway from the Bridge around to the bottom of Albert Street.
We are supplying the traps FREE!!! The traps are easy to manage and safe for birds, pets and children. All you need to do is check the trap, keep it baited and tell us when you catch something! You will also get a regular newsletter with tips & tricks on baiting and placement etc.
