Little Stars Receives Over $5,800 Thanks to 2026 Lions Mini Golf Competition

One of the most meaningful outcomes of this year’s Lions Mini Golf Business House Competition goes far beyond scores and trophies. Thanks to the generosity of participants and supporters, we were thrilled to present Pip from Little Stars with a cheque for $5,000, raised directly through competition entry fees and community support.

Adding to this incredible effort, competing teams and individual winners donated an additional $870 of their prize money, bringing the total contribution to Little Stars to $5,870.

Little Stars plays a vital role in the Manawatū by supporting disabled children and helping them access developmental opportunities, equipment, and activities that are often unavailable through standard channels. Their work makes a life-changing impact for local families.

Pip shared that the funds will be used to help establish a specialised lending library of developmental equipment. This will allow families, schools, and preschools across the region to borrow essential tools and devices that support children’s growth and independence — resources that are currently limited due to high demand within the Little Stars centre.

This new initiative will significantly widen access for the community and ensure more children can benefit from the support they need.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone involved in the competition for helping make this donation possible. Your generosity is helping to create meaningful and lasting impact for children across the Manawatū.  Little Stars Website to learn more.
