Following a highly successful membership drive at Dr. Dave Baldwin’s hangar, the Lions Club of Middle Districts (MDLC) is proud to announce the successful handover of a critical piece of medical technology: a ZOLL R-series defibrillator/heart monitor.

The Right Tools for the Job

Dr. Dave Baldwin is a familiar face in the New Zealand aviation and rural health sectors. Through his Healthy Bastards campaign, he flies across the country to promote men’s health in some of our most remote communities. As the saying goes, "A doctor is only as good as his tools," and we wanted to ensure Dr. Dave has the very best.

Why the ZOLL R-Series?

The previous monitor at the Bulls clinic had reached the end of its useful life. This new ZOLL R-series unit provides:

• Advanced Monitoring: Includes external pacing capability to stabilize patients with critical heart rate issues.

• Extreme Portability: Designed to go wherever the flight takes him, providing high-quality resuscitation gear during medical emergencies in transit.

• Community Continuity: When not in the air, the machine is stationed at the clinic in Bulls, serving our local community.

The Handover

We were honored to officially present this equipment to Dr. Dave and his team in late 2025. Knowing this technology is in such capable hands gives us great peace of mind.
